Description

This 64 GB USB key, the Gwo Ti Plim (“big little pen”), contains a PDF version of the book “Viv Bondye! Aba Relijyon!” and all four CDs in the series Lafimen: Listwa Pèp Ayisyen depi nan Ginen – History of the Africans of Haiti.

God created human beings; human beings created religion. And yet it is religion that claims to come and show human beings who God is!

What are the origins of the Christian religion?

The Christian religion appeared on earth some 2,000 years ago, at a time when the territory of Palestine was under the domination of the Roman army. Christianity began as a movement for change within Jewish society. The central figure of the Christian religion is a young man, the son of Jewish peasants, who was called Jesus. But, as we will see further on, it was not Jesus who named the religion “Christianity”; nor, during his lifetime, was Jesus called Jesus Christ. We will set out in detail what we find in the historical documents that show who named the religion, where and in what era, and under what conditions Christians came to establish its fundamental principles and spread it: first in the lands surrounding Palestine, within the Roman Empire, and finally far beyond, onto the African continent and overseas into Europe, Asia, the Americas and Oceania.

(20,000 B.C. to October 17, 1806)

The opening piece of CD #1, “Nèg Nwa bay Nèg tout koulè toupatou” (“Black” humans begat humanity of all “shades”, everywhere), sets the stage with an overview of the earliest known human civilizations in Africa, Australia, the Americas and Eurasia.

Jafrikayiti guides us through the violent interactions between Africans and Europeans which eventually led to the tragic experience of forced cohabitation in the Americas, the genocide of the Taínos of Haiti and the establishment of the slave colony of Santo Domingo.

CDs #2 and #3 cover the Haitian Revolution: from the early maroon revolts, the rule of military genius Toussaint Louverture and his downfall, through the continued struggle for freedom, to the ultimate victory of the African troops over Napoléon’s expedition (Battle of Vertières) and the proclamation of the Republic of Haiti on January 1, 1804, by abolitionist leader and founder Jean-Jacques Dessalines.

CD #4 covers the entire rule of Dessalines, from the Governor General’s admonition to his liberated people on January 1, 1804, to the tragic assassination of Emperor Jacques I, followed by the heroic actions of Marie Sainte Dédé Bazile (Défilé), on October 17, 1806.
